Dragon Fire

Result of R&D

In the earlier days of learning Houdini, the pyro solver was a difficult aspect of the program that required many hours of experimentation and research. The group expected to have dragon fire and possibly smoke coming from the dragon's nostrils. Coming out of the R&D phase, I managed to create a static simulation representing the level of detail I could accomplish using the pyro solver. The render of this sim could be found in the cover for the dragon fire page. Although the smoke blowing out of the nostrils was scrapped, I learned vdb collisions and much more about the density field of the solver.

More coming soon...
